Tokyo Marui shotguns have always represented the top line in the airsoft shotguns. As customers' demands for better shotguns grew and Tokyo Marui is responding with this new upgraded version of their shotgun. Compared to the older models, the clear reform is the gas functionality of weapons!
Like the older Marui shotguns, such as SPAS-12 and Benelli M3, these new ones also use the same 30-bb shells, which act as a magazine. Cocking is lighter because main operation of the gun is now working with gas instead of pure spring power. When the gas tank is full, the shotgun can shoot about 60 shots.
Another major reform is that the whole gun is now full metal. Only the stock and the charging handle are plastic, as in the real gun as well. The third reform is the choice of firepower. Older models always fired 3 bb's (each bb from their own barrel). New gas shotguns shoot at either 3 or 6 bb's at a time. The selection can be made by the user himself behind the dust cover.
Like SPAS-12 and M3, even newer gas shotguns have a fixed hop-up that works best depending on the gas used, either 0.20g or 0.25g. The package comes with one Maru's original shell (magazine).
The Maruin M870 is equipped with open-sights and the stock is made out of plastic with very good looking wood imiation.
