he AKM gas rifle from Tokyo Marui is a project that has been in development long after the release of the MWS replica. As you would expect, the AKM uses the same ZET system found in the MWS, meaning that this AK will likely be one of the most reliable AK replicas currently on the market.
Externally, the AK features an exceptional level of attention to detail and even features former Soviet markings. The pistol grip has been so well made that it is probably one of the most reminiscent of the original. Although the metal from which the replica was made is a zinc alloy it is still very durable. On the other hand, the breech cap, the stock foot, the selector and the dummy exhaust are made of steel. Through the use of special resin printing on the handguard and the stock, the wood grain is expressed as in reality. In addition, the manufacturer has strived to reproduce as closely as possible the appearance of the replica itself: the texture of the breech, the grip finished as bakelite material by painting, and the breech cover made of pressed steel as in the flammable counterpart.
Internally, the AKM is based on the same ZET system found in the MWS. Which means that the replica features very high performance and repeatability. Thanks to the use of a wider piston (about 19 mm), the carbine has a very strong Blow Back. In addition, it is a model with a realistic method of operation by installing an auto stop when the magazine is empty. After firing the last bullet from the magazine, it is not possible to fire a so called "dry shot".
The magazine with a capacity of 35 BBs was made of cast aluminium.
